The Illinois Public Telecommunications Association (IPTA) was founded in an effort to unite industry members and strengthen the competitive payphone industry. The IPTA represents over 150 competitive pay telephone providers. With its own full time staff, the IPTA is the oldest and most active pay telephone association in the country and it works closely with the American Public Communications Council (APCC). The mission of the IPTA is to eliminate unfair and improper business practices affecting the payphone industry and to create a level playing field for competitive payphone owners.
